Tulunadu Times is a Kannada digital news publication focused on Udupi, Mangaluru, Tulu Nadu and coastal Karnataka. Our goal is to give local readers timely, useful and clearly written information they can verify and act on.
Our coverage priorities
Our editorial plan aims to devote roughly 70–80% of new coverage to Udupi, Mangaluru and coastal Karnataka. This includes civic affairs, transport, education, public services, culture, tourism, business, the environment and stories about people in the region.
We also cover major Karnataka and national developments when they have a clear public-interest value for our readers. Technology, finance, automobiles, sports and health are treated as supporting topics, not a replacement for our core coastal-Karnataka coverage.
Editorial standards
- We verify consequential claims through official notices, government records, company filings, named experts or other reliable primary sources whenever available.
- We distinguish confirmed facts from estimates, early reports, opinion and social-media claims.
- We do not knowingly publish misleading, sensational or unsupported headlines.
- Health, finance, government and political reports receive additional source checks because errors in these areas can cause real harm.
- When material facts change, we update the article and its modified date. Significant errors are corrected as promptly and transparently as possible.
- Original or properly licensed images are preferred, and captions or alt text should describe what the image actually shows.
